Did anyone notice? Possible.com sold for $351,000 at Cax
October 19, 2010  |  Domaining

As many of you know, I am a frequenter at BargainDomains and Cax these days, so I am a little surprised that I haven’t read anything about the PremiumDomains/Cax sale of Possible.com at a whopping $351,000 on October 16th. Francois promoted the hell out of this domain when the $80,000 reserve was met and the domain was sent to a 7-day public auction. The bidding would remain at a reasonable $93,000 until just 10 minutes before the 5PM EDT ending. The next hour turned into a bidding war between two members known under the aliases D. GOLDSTEIN and Hobbyist, with the later finally winning the domain at $351,000.

The sales page on Cax shows that payment has yet to be made, but I am sure any sale of this price can take some time for escrow. I should also note that the domain has been quietly parked with Parked.com over the last while and the WhoIs information is under privacy at Moniker.

There you have it – a monster sale by Francois that has gone largely under the radar! Congrats to all involved!

UPDATE: According to the sales page, the buyer has paid! The WhoIs records also show an October 21st update date. Looks like the deal is pretty much done, folks!

  1. Wow! totally missed this one.. nice sale!

  2. Very good sale, indeed! For me, the big shocker is the more than $250,000 difference between the reserve and selling price – Francois must have done a great job getting two motivated buyers to battle it out. I look forward to seeing what the buyer has planned.

  3. shocking for sure , over priced ? i guess so , but with end users u can never know

  4. Fantastic sale, but is it really “possible”? I mean it just hasn’t been reported on any major news feed. If it was real, wouldn’t people be shouting from the rooftops? IMHO.

  6. Great sale, thanks for reporting it Cole.

  7. Good lookin’ out Cole! Anything’s “possible” with domains!

  8. Still no updates on this one at all – very strange. I recall a post where Francois said he doesn’t like people reporting on non-completed sales, but that is just one of the things that happens with public auction places.

Might have to send this case over to Mulder and Scully.
