After a couple of months of buying dozens of domains, I am starting to come down with something. It may be the warm weather, it may be the lack of money…either way, I think I have the development bug. After I wrap up a community project (redesign of a simple PHP site I made a couple of years ago), I intend to focus on simple one-page landers that will help potential domain buyers contact me directly.

Sounds like a great idea Cole. I’ve been building a few niche sites in recent months and they are ranking well in Yahoo/Bing and in some cases ranking nicely in Google as well. Most importantly, they are getting traffic and sales! March and April were nice Amazon commission wise.
Next I too plan to dev many 1 page and even some multi page sites, but they won’t take much more time than a 1 pager… and they will rank for a lot more. Then we’ll see how it goes, but I’ll probably flip most of the names at that point. Happy developing!
Thanks for the comment John – glad to hear about your success! I have had a lot of success selling my product domains for a quick profit, so I haven’t tried setting up an aStore yet. My development plan is to go the Dan Sanchez route with some solid 1-page landers and link building that will help potential end-users contact me directly. We’ll see where it goes!
